Counselling and Psychotherapy in Yeovil

Looking for a therapist in Yeovil?

I’m Ashley, a BACP registered psychotherapist offering counselling and psychotherapy from my private therapy practice in Yeovil, Somerset.

I work with adults aged 18 and over, offering a down-to-earth, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever is going on for you.

You don't need to have everything figured out before you come to therapy. You don't even necessarily need to know exactly why you're looking for help. Sometimes you just know that things don't feel quite right, or that you're finding things harder than you'd like.

Therapy can give you some space to slow things down, make sense of what's going on and talk about things you might not feel able to talk about elsewhere.

Counselling or psychotherapy?

You might have searched for a counsellor in Yeovil, a therapist in Yeovil, or a psychotherapist in Yeovil and wondered what the difference actually is.

The words counselling and psychotherapy are often used interchangeably, and there can be a lot of overlap between the two.

For me, therapy isn't about following a set formula or trying to fit you into a particular box. It's about having a space where we can explore what's happening for you and what you need, and I can work in a way that meets your needs and your experience, because no two people are the same.

You can read more about my approach on my about me page.

A space to talk in Yeovil

My therapy office is in Yeovil, Somerset, and is a private, comfortable space where you can talk without worrying about being judged or having to say things in the “right” way.

Therapy doesn't have to be formal or clinical. You can swear, laugh, cry, vent, get frustrated, change your mind halfway through a sentence, or sit quietly for a bit while you work out what you want to say.

There isn't a right way to do therapy.

What we talk about will depend on you, your circumstances and what has brought you to therapy. That might be anxiety, stress or low mood, difficulties in your relationships, a big change in your life, or simply a feeling that you're struggling to keep doing things the way you have been.
